Meditation Tips and Options
If you’re new to meditation, here are some simple ways to get started:
Start with short sessions
Try meditating for 2–5 minutes to begin with. As you get comfortable, you can increase your time.
Use guided meditations
Apps like Calm, Headspace, and Insight Timer offer free guided meditations for beginners, sleep, focus, or stress relief.
Focus on your breath
One of the simplest forms of meditation is to sit comfortably, close your eyes, and focus on slow, deep breathing. Count each inhale and exhale to keep your mind present.
Try a body scan meditation
Bring awareness to different parts of your body, from your toes to your head, relaxing each area as you focus on it. This can be especially good before bed.
Use mindful moments
Meditation doesn’t always need to be sitting still. You can practise mindfulness while walking, doing the dishes, or drinking your morning coffee—just pay full attention to the moment without distractions.
