Introduction
Pulse NZ ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the Pulse mobile application and web platform (together, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information we collect
Personal information
When you create or use an account, we may collect your email address, name if provided, employer or group access information, and profile information you choose to add.
Wellbeing and tool data
You may voluntarily enter financial, mental wellbeing, nutrition, physical wellbeing, goals, assessments, notes, reminders, or other tool data. This information is used to provide your Pulse experience and sync your data across devices.
Usage and device data
We may collect device type, operating system, app usage patterns, pages or features accessed, diagnostic information, and aggregated analytics to maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
How we use your information
- Provide, maintain, personalise, and improve the Service.
- Create, authenticate, and manage your account.
- Sync your data across devices.
- Provide employer-sponsored access and aggregated employer reporting where applicable.
- Send important service, security, or account updates.
- Respond to support requests.
- Monitor reliability, prevent misuse, and protect the security of the Service.
Employer and aggregated reporting
Pulse is commonly provided through employers. We do not sell your personal information. Where employer reporting is provided, it is intended to be aggregated or operational reporting rather than disclosure of individual sensitive wellbeing responses.
Data storage and security
- Data is transmitted using HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- Personal data is stored using trusted cloud providers, including Supabase for authentication and database services.
- Biometric authentication such as Face ID or Touch ID is handled by your device. We do not access or store biometric data.
- We regularly review security and privacy practices.
Data sharing and disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share information only where necessary with:
- Service providers that help operate, host, analyse, secure, or support the Service.
- Employers or group scheme administrators for eligibility, access administration, and aggregated reporting where Pulse is employer-sponsored.
- Legal or safety processes where required by law or to protect rights, property, safety, or security.
- Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets.
Third-party services
The Service may use trusted third-party services including Supabase for authentication and data storage, Vercel for hosting and analytics, AWS S3 for media delivery, Expo and Apple/Google platform services for mobile distribution and app operation, and other operational providers required to deliver Pulse.
Your rights and choices
You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of your personal information, and may opt out of non-essential communications where available. To exercise these rights, use in-app controls where provided or contact us using the details below.
How to delete your data
You can delete your personal wellbeing/tool data directly within the app:
- Go to your Profile page.
- Open the Privacy & Data section.
- Tap Delete My Data.
- Confirm your choice.
This deletes financial information, wellbeing metrics, goals, assessments, tool history, preferences, and favourites. Your account login credentials and name may be preserved where needed to keep employer access, prevent duplicate account creation, comply with legal requirements, or allow you to continue using the Service with a fresh start.
Children's privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can address it.
Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain security, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and support legitimate business operations. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal data within a reasonable period except where retention is required or permitted by law.
International processing
Pulse NZ is based in New Zealand. Your information may be processed in New Zealand or other countries where our service providers operate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
